Only trust it if it's official...Or imagin, of course.

Don't rely on unofficial outlets offering a more favourable exchange rate. Such sites often take advantage of travellers.

Current documentation is twice as good.

Check your documentation and the expiry dates before your trip. In general, you will be asked for a minimum validity of 6 months.

The early bird... pays less.

Book your flights 45 to 60 days in advance and your accommodation 18 months in advance to get much cheaper. If you are in the unreserved destination, from 18.00 hotels will release the rooms at a lower price.

A good trip starts with a good budget.

Calculate your likely costs and add a little extra for the first few days. Don't forget drinks in your food budget: a coffee or a craft beer can cost as much as a meal, if not more, in some countries.

Good planning in good time is always better

Take into account the time of year and current events to avoid monsoons or typhoons, unstable political situations, peak season or any kind of event that may lead to price increases. Avoid arriving at the destination at night to ensure you have all the services at your disposal.

Wherever you go, look at what people are doing around you.

Find out what is culturally acceptable and what is not. Be aware of local customs regarding tipping. Traveling by public transport will give you a more real (and fun) vision of the destination.

It never hurts to be cautious.

Bring a handbag with inner pockets to store your most important belongings such as documentation, money or your mobile phone.

If you want to be one of the crowd, blend in.

Try to go unnoticed. Dress similarly to the locals, don't walk around with your camera in plain sight or display maps in a flashy way. Also, learn phrases such as "I live in [the destination]" in the local language.

Take care of your health at all times.

In some destinations it is necessary to be especially careful with drinks or food. If it is not safe to drink tap water, don't brush your teeth with it either.

The most important thing: ENJOY YOURSELF!

We know travel can be stressful, but that's what all our cards are for. You just worry about enjoying yourself, we'll take care of the rest.
